My name is André Burnier; I’m a Brazilian graphic designer and creative coder, currently based in São Paulo – Brazil. In 2016 I graduated as a master in graphic design at AKV | St. Joost in Breda – Netherlands.
During the last years, I have focused my activity researching the intersection between graphic design and programming – more specifically on how to use programming as a tool to make graphic design. My current activities go from generative design, custom made designer bots to more “traditional” graphic design - logos, visual identities and editorial.
I believe that with the current speed that our society is shifting, designers need to be regularly looking for new ways to communicate. Originally the graphic design was meant to be printed, nowadays we design – mostly – for the screen, and it is our responsibility to explore the new possibilities that these new media enable.
