THE INFINITE PATTER MAKER

Tátil challenged me to design a typographic pattern generator for the new Enjoei visual identity. Black Letra designed a beautiful custom variable font for the new brand and patterns. Together, we developed a custom tool that can output infinite variations of motion patterns using only type.

With this tool, anyone can set up a pattern in three different arrangements: square, circular, and spiral. The user can choose the character, colours and movements precisely. This tool can export video, still images and vectors directly from the browser.

Because setting up all the movements and variations can be a little bureaucratic and overwhelming for the untrained user – we decided to add some randomizer buttons to the UI. With these buttons, anyone can quickly test different options for the motion and pattern. In my opinion, these are the funniest buttons I've ever made on any program. I've probably wasted hours mesmerized by the different random results.
